I wanted to blog the message below (by Dr Geoff Gorsuch) awhile back but didnt have time till now =)
Faith is risk & involves 3-P, personal, promise & preparation. It deals with the future & invisible.
Noah's faith
His faith was based on a personal promise that required preparation. God told Noah what to do, gave him all the facts & he obeyed.
Job's faith
His faith was based on God's character. God was silent. Job received no facts or tasks or preparation or personal promise. He trusted God.
What's my faith? Job or Noah? It depends on the season in my life. About 3 months ago, it was Job's faith - the struggles I had with work, family & personal issues was one of the darkest periods in my life. The 3-in-1 (3 struggles at 1 time) was too much for me. The breakthrough came after I fully surrendered to God (after exhausting all my strenghts & efforts) . . . at work, situations turned around - work issues were resolved & relationship with colleagues began to improve. At home, I've His peace & assurance to bring my family through this trying period. All in all, God was & is good =)
