2nd Langkawi trip

My 2nd trip to Langkawi for HPC away day, 1st trip was 8 years ago with my ex-co.

Stayed at Westin Hotel, loved the breakfast spread. Too bad we didn't have much time to enjoy the hotel facilities or explore the island.

At Laman Padi.

At the cable car 1st viewing station, 652.5m above sea level.
Langkawi hasn't changed much from my previous visit except for the cable car, it wasnt ready the last time.

CMI workshop in Bangkok

Christmas decorations were already up in some malls in Bangkok in Nov.

One of the high-end mall.

Caught up with Oat, ex-colleague from GfK Thai, who took me to Somtam for lunch. The food was yummy but a tad too spicy & sour for me! Somtam is a popular restaurant, we'd to queue up along with others for a table.

A quick bite after a long day of walking. The stall is near the massage centre I visited, nothing fancy but I was too hungry to look around. Loved the quick service, the kangkung but not the char siew.

CMI colleagues from other countries.

This was my 2nd visit to Bangkok, first trip was some years ago with my ex-company. I realised that I didnt really enjoy Thai massage, found it to be painful after each visit. The only time I like Thai massage was my 1st encounter. Could it be the masseur(s) or me? Or possibly the company from my ex-colleagues made me forget the pain?
And I finally visited Chatuchak - the amount of stalls & people there were astonishing! Of course nothing beats Platinum Mall which is my favourite mall in Bangkok =)

Fun Monday

My first visit to Science Museum! Thanks to my company which sponsored us and a group of kids from an orphanage. I also got a free quick tour of KLCC aquarium when we enquired about it.

Was the visit worth it? Let's just say I won't be visiting in near future. The exhibitions in the museum were not very interactive or attractive, some were malfunction. I prefer the park outside - consist of animal farm, wet & dry playground & plant nursery. The kids stripped some plants of its leaves (almost botak) to feed the animals. Some rabbits were found trembling in fear as the kids wanted to catch and play with it.
Me and colleagues turned foster parents on that day as we're responsible to take care of the kids. It was funny to see many of us (including myself) wearing out before lunch. Guess parenting is not easy.

Attack of orange? Nope...it is just us decking in orange.

After museum, we head to a nearby restaurant for our company high-tea. This time round we had talent time contest. Many participated except for some who gave flimsy excuses =). My department came in 2nd place - a result which I still dispute as the 1st place was won by the head of department...hmm a case of favouritism? since the judges are none other than their direct bosses =)

Company Christmas Lunch

Lunch at Nutz Cafe.

These gals are my lunch partners.

Me & Ronald - this guy can talk, able to bring up any conversation anytime.

Doesn't Gary blend well with the wall & balls?

Stanley, me & Collin - we're the champion for the bowling competition!! This win sort of compensated my not-so-grand lucky draw gift.

Me & Siak Tai -a dependable & kind colleague who never reject last minute request!

BBQ on Rainy Day

Cher & kids.

Our chefs for the night, who braved the rain to cook for us.

Tracy, Priscilla & me. We all huddled under the shelter as it was pouring heavily. I guess no more BBQ the next round or else plan one during dry season!

Me & Cher.

We celebrated Pris' birthday a day earlier. Happy Birthday Pris!

Tracy, our cake baker from GfK!

JB visit

My first visit to JB for work.

Me & colleagues stayed at Zon Regency Hotel. Found the hotel not well maintained, I had to change my room because there were ants crawling near the bed.

Bernard, my colleague from South, a good host who took good care of us. We're never hungry with him around. He took us to taste some of JB best food including Har Poh (prawn), Kuay Teow Kia (mini hor fun in bak-kut-teh soup with braised egg, tofu, salted vege etc), hakka dishes (bittergourd soup, pork with yam, fried pork) & nasi beryani. He also took us to foot & thai Massage.

Gary, my other colleague.

Night view at Festive Street Mall.

There were replica of different type of Malay houses.

View from my hotel room. Spore is just across the sea (look for the 2 high towers).

Our last meal at Nina before we left JB. Here served excellent nasi beryani & air bandung soda. We hardly eat on the 3rd day because we overstuff ourselves earlier =)
Overall, it was a P & P trip - pork & pain because we had pork for many meals & endured pain from both the foot & thai massage!
