Blogger diarrhoea

I'm suffering from blogger diarrhoea, posting as many entries as I could to make up for last year infrequent posting. A friend also commented over my poor posting...was distracted by facebook hahaha. Will try to live up to my blog's name - occasional blogger. Hopefully this post won't be the last one for 2010 =p

Moving on

1Q08 had been interesting as well as challenging for me. I made 2 important decisions. Being a melancholic, I dislike changes & would sit on the issues before deciding. First decision, I resigned from GfK to take up another job offer after much searching & waiting. The decision was not easy, afterall I've worked at GfK for 6.7 years. Over the years, I have seen & encountered many good & not-so-good memories - trainings, trips, GCP, DWH etc. At the end of it, it is the friendships that I shall miss dearly. Until now I stand amaze at how God moves in my life. It is without any doubt that He heard my prayers and granting it in His time. There is no way I could land this job given my background & experience. And to top it of, this job offers the best deal (among others).

Second decision, I've moved on from The Father's Mirrors. Again it was NOT an easy deicision to make (there were many u-turn decisions in-between). But deep down I knew it was time to move on and God confirmed it when I saw the members rising up to serve each other and realising the importance of cell. These were the few things that I wanted them to instill in them which finally came to fruit.

As I reflect the two incidents, Rom 8:28 came to mind ... And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose ... Indeed God knows and provides the best for his children!

My favourite drink!

Mango Frappucino - my favourite drink from Starbucks! I got a treat from a colleague for my birthday. Sometimes I will treat myself one when I'm feeling blues... a sip will certainly chase them away. How I wish I can have it regularly but the price does not permit!

My new hair cut in 2007! Decided to have it coloured & cut in bob, the result was quite drastic from my long hair. I think I miss my long hair liow (yes, I admit I'm fickle minded), guess I will be washing my hair diligently from now so that it will grow long quickly.

The cut was also a treat to myself on birthday - decided to pamper myself with hair cut, pedicure (only my 2nd time) and watching movie with sis & bro-in-law. And the best part was everything was paid for...kekeke. Oh yeah, I took leave too on my birthday (just like previous years). This year I had to silent my mobile phone because it was flooded with sms wishes. And that didnt stop my colleagues who called & sang "Happy Birthday" over the phone - so thoughtful of them. My birthday celebration started a week earlier when cg threw me a surprise but was "bocor" because I caught them busy scribbling one after another. I asked them "Are you writing my birthday card?". Later they sabo me back . . . kekeke

Too good to be true

I was almost scam this week, never thought it would happen to me. A man approached me while I was pumping petrol. He wanted to do a small survey regarding shopping habit. I responded and soon he was promoting his company products. Then he passed me a sealed coupon, claiming it was a discount voucher. He insisted I should open it on the spot so that he could earn commission (based on number of opened coupons). I did so out of good intention. He then congratulated me, claiming I had won a free car from his company. He was smiling non-stop, very enthusiastic over my win. However I was not, I saw the coupon had "Beli & Menang" printed on it and then remembered reading about similar scams. I told the man I was not interested and drove away. Looking back now, I thank God for protecting me - I didnt really understand the man because he was speaking in mandarin & granting me wisdom not to fall for it.

Finally I get to eat at Paddington Pancake..yeah! Heard so much about it & sure enough the pancakes were yummy especially 1 of the desserts. Thank you Ming Ming for bringing your camera to our birthday gatherings. Earlier celebrations included at Sunseekers meeting (http://shelleyshelleyshelley.blogspot.com/2006/07/making-poh-sim-older-earlier-he-he.html); cell and dinner with siblings. As my yearly ritual, I took leave on my birthday, didnt do much, lepak in the house & watched "Tai Cheong Kam".
