Choo & Edwin drove us to the airport at 3am! Unfortunately they could not join us in Hanoi. This trip to Hanoi was our family vacation after many many years.
The famous lake in Hanoi, cannot recall the name though.
We took rickshaw around Old Quarter which is an interesting & busy place. Our driver pointed out the oldest restaurant to us & we returned thereafter for dinner. And of course the restaurant (serve fish only) did not disappoint us.
Next day we head to Halong Bay.
We got to see 2 caves after the boat stopped.
Next visit was Perfume Pagoda.
Initially the boat ride was enjoyable & nostalgia but soon we found our bum sored as we sat on wooden plank. The boat ride was 30 minutes!
All in all, it was a good vacation - time to bond & rest. Food was simply delicious. We'd many KODAK moments but one stood out in particularly. . . I thought I was wise to ask for fixed fee whenever we catch a cab. And I always bargain with the cab driver for lower fees. It went alright till I discovered it was cheaper to use meter reading on the last day. Talk about being too smart . . . haha
