Sunset at Kuta beach. It is no surprise why people flock there to enjoy the sunset. The beach is nothing fantastic but the big waves won me over. Another drawback is that it is filled with vendors who will not hesitate to approach visitors regularly. I thought lighter was a popular item as I kept hearing vendors mentioning it. Then I discovered they meant "later" and not "lighter".
Leong & Kukuh.
We celebrated Leong's birthday one day earlier at Hard Rock Cafe. Food was disappointing and too much . . . we ordered 5 meals including 1 entree for 4 persons!
Rice terrace. We went sight-seeing on the 3rd day & hired a van to take us around. We initially had problem communicating with the van driver but got it sorted after Kukuh joined us. He was our communicator cum negotiator but he didnt always get the best deal =)
Close-up of padi sawah.
Next stop was Monkey Sanctuary. Leong was a favourite among his buddies =)
The famous babi guling stall in Ubud. There was a long queue for take-away but dining-in was a breeze.
Babi guling.
Final stop was Tanah Lot temple. Love the big waves!
Kadir, Ching, Leong, me and Kukuh - had lunch at one of the famous warung in Kuta.
Bali nasi campur - nice!
Took this picture from a resort where we had our coffees.
Sanur resort. We stayed here on the last night, courtesy of Leong's friend who is very generous and hospitable. He fed, fetched & sheltered us!
The front view of my suite at Sanur resort. Didnt manage to take picture of Dewi Sri Cottage where we stayed for 3 nights. The latter was a decent place, value for money and provided good service. It allowed me to inspect the new room before we changed (we requested for a new room as the first room was unpleasant).
Overall I enjoyed myself very much in Bali. It is one of the most relaxing & laid back holiday that I've done. The Balinese is friendly & accomodating and the scenary is breathtaking. Having my siblings around made this holiday sweeter and fun. Those two are jokers, they made everyone (I meant everyone they met) laughed!
